When i want to send some eth to an erc20 contract i receive the following error: "value transfer did not complete most likely as a result of a revert opcode".

I modified the fallback function in order send tokens once having received the eth payment in the following way:

function () public payable {
    uint amount = msg.value;
    uint tokens = amount * 10;
    transfer(msg.sender, tokens);
}

This is the entire code:

pragma solidity ^0.4.18;

contract SafeMath {
    function safeAdd(uint a, uint b) public pure returns (uint c) {
        c = a + b;
        require(c >= a);
    }
    function safeSub(uint a, uint b) public pure returns (uint c) {
        require(b <= a);
        c = a - b;
    }
    function safeMul(uint a, uint b) public pure returns (uint c) {
        c = a * b;
        require(a == 0 || c / a == b);
    }
    function safeDiv(uint a, uint b) public pure returns (uint c) {
        require(b > 0);
        c = a / b;
    }
}

For security reason a fallback function has a fixed stipend of 2300 gas. So it won't execute the code you are putting in it. you'll need to define a payable function which should be called to send ethers to the contract

for example

function deposit() payable{
  uint amount = msg.value;
    uint tokens = amount * 10;
    transfer(msg.sender, tokens);
}
