testrpc --account private key length is invalid even though its my account

Question

I tried to initiate a testrpc account and passing my account with value to test the transactions but when I keyed in my key 0x94fd019eeb92780477b01ce5555513d3755b5193 it says that the key is invalid.

Why is it invalid even though its my key?

You need to use a private key here, which is 0x + 64 hex characters.

0x94fd019eeb92780477b01ce5555513d3755b5193 is only 40 hex characters and looks like an account address rather than a private key.

If you have the private key for this account, then try that. Depending on how you generated the account, you may not have easy access to the private key. If you have a UTC style key file, then you can use MyEtherWallet's View Wallet Info facility to see it.
