Not sure how to take this 'ORIGINAL POST' off 'hold' - hence I have taken the liberty of re-posting the below query - I have edited (appended) 'NEW INFORMATION'- see below.

I have been on this problem for over 5 days and still no solution.

I have an RX480 GPU running on a 64 bit Windows 10 system.

Using Nanopool.

It worked fine for about two weeks and then I got this (copied from the CMD Line):

On the last line above is "#3868abc5...." - this is the uncorrupted part of the DAG file name?

As mentioned above have now exhausted all my attempts to rectify this - included such things as "--cl-extragpu-mem 0 --no-precompute" (gained from the Internet help searches) and deleting the DAG files from Ethash.

Would be grateful if someone can throw some light on this problem.

Yes, I am new at this technology and I appreciate the feedback.

Further Comment:

1. I use Mist as my wallet - if that is relevant

2. Basically ethminer.exe stops working when I execute the above bat file (it worked before - I have no idea why it does not now).

3. Currently I get a message from Windows that ethminer.exe has stopped working and then shuts it down

4. I have now update the RX480 drivers and reload cpp ethereum (via the wizzard)- neither of these made any difference

5. The above bat filestops at the CMD output of: "miner 10:51:32.581|main Grabbing DAG for #3868abc5"

6. You can see the last three characters are corrupt(but the string is the beginning of the actual DAG file name "#3868abc5 "

7. I started with deleting the DAG files at the folder Ethash - when I re-ran the above bat file it started to build a new DAG file - when it had finished then Windows simply shut it down again (with same Windows message).

8. Now when I subsequently delete the DAG file(s), before I execute the bat file, it just hangs as above (it no longer attempts to build a DAG file)

9. Where would I look for a possible error code? Somewhere in Mist or the Wallet itself perhaps?

10. Does Nanopool collect error data? Does cpp ethereum itself have and error register (in this instance Windows does not offer an error code that I am aware of?).

11. Please advise if there is something else I can provide to assist you diagnose this.

None of these strategies made any difference

SOME QUESTIONS THAT COULD PERHAPS HELP ME SOLVE THIS PROBLEM:

• Where would I look for a possible error code? Somewhere in Mist or the Wallet itself perhaps? I use Mist as my wallet.

• Does Nanopool collect error data?

• Does cpp ethereum itself have an error register (in this instance Windows does not offer an error code that I am aware of?).
