How do I get Ethminer stopped working (Windows 10 shut it down) - Take IIto work again?

Good Afternoon,

Not sure how to take this 'ORIGINAL POST' off 'hold' - henceTHE PROBLEM I AM TRYING TO RESOLVE: ethminer.exe stops working when I have taken the liberty of re-postingexecute the below query - I have edited (appended) 'NEW INFORMATION'- seebat file below.

I have been on this problem It initially worked fine for over 5 daysabout two weeks and stillthen it stopped working. I have no solutionidea why.

I have an RX480 GPU running on a 64 bit Windows 10 system.

Using And I use Nanopool.

It worked fine for about two weeks and then I got this (copiedget a message from the CMD Line):

As mentioned above have now exhausted all my attempts to rectify this - included such things as "--cl-extragpu-mem 0 --no-precompute" (gained from the Internet help searches "#3868abc5") and deleting the DAG files from Ethash.

Would be grateful if someone can throw some light on this problem.WHAT I HAVE TRIED SO FAR:

  • I used "--cl-extragpu-mem 0 --no-precompute" (gained from the Internet help searches)

  • I updated the RX480 drivers and reloaded cpp ethereum (via the wizzard)

  • I started with deleting the DAG files from Ethash - when I re-ran the above bat file it started to build a new DAG file. When it finished, Windows simply shut it down again (with same Windows message). Now when I subsequently delete the DAG file(s), before I execute the bat file, it no longer attempts to build a DAG file (it just hangs as above)

Regards PiarasNone of these strategies made any difference

NEW INFORMATION ______________________________________________________________SOME QUESTIONS THAT COULD PERHAPS HELP ME SOLVE THIS PROBLEM:

  • Where would I look for a possible error code? Somewhere in Mist or the Wallet itself perhaps? I use Mist as my wallet.

  • Does Nanopool collect error data?

  • Does cpp ethereum itself have an error register (in this instance Windows does not offer an error code that I am aware of?).

ThanksThank you to Nicolas Massart, Badr Bellaj, and 5chdn for respondingoffering feedback to my original question.

Yes, I am new at this technology and I appreciatehave included additional information to make the feedbackproblem clearer. Please let me know if there is any other information that would help in assisting me.

Further Comment:Kind Regards

  1. I use Mist as my wallet - if that is relevant

  2. Basically ethminer.exe stops working when I execute the above bat file (it worked before - I have no idea why it does not now).

  3. Currently I get a message from Windows that ethminer.exe has stopped working and then shuts it down

  4. I have now update the RX480 drivers and reload cpp ethereum (via the wizzard)- neither of these made any difference

  5. The above bat filestops at the CMD output of: "miner 10:51:32.581|main Grabbing DAG for #3868abc5"

  6. You can see the last three characters are corrupt(but the string is the beginning of the actual DAG file name "#3868abc5 "

  11. Please advise if there is something else I can provide to assist you diagnose this.
