EthOS is based on Ubuntu Linux source code which is under the GPL 3 licensing. Therefore, by not supplying the source code to ALL for free they are in violation of the licensing. I will be filing a complaint with UBUNTU about this violation. They are essentially stealing an open gpl licensed software and selling it as proprietary without giving the source ...

From their webpage, I put the features in code format, and in italic my 2 cents on it. On a side note I'm somewhat surprised we can have opinion based posts / question in here but hey... Remote configuration: instruct rig to remote reboot, set core clocks, mem clocks, fan control, pool info, and other settings remotely. nothing you can't do in Ubuntu out ...

It seems to be sold as pre-installed SSDs - a convenience option? They also sell their "Digital Download" for the same price as a physical SSD with ethOS on, which is rather... unusual pricing. The ethOS licence is indecisive. They can't decide if they're GPL or... I'm not sure if I understand their "other" licence correctly, but it involves a small goat ...

Seems like all of these negative comments missed the point. Things like ethos and PiMP exist for new miners that do not know how to do the setup tasks or who consider the trivial cost worth the time savings. I personally like building a miner from the ground up, but I also have rigs running both PiMP and ethos. No downloading drivers, compiling, creating ...

I've gone to the link http://www.mininghwcomparison.com/list/index.php?brand=both and filtered for 7990 and the top 5 entries relate to Ethereum mining: Clicking on More Info on the fourth entry, then clicking on Config provides the following information: --cl-local-work 128 --cl-global-work 8192 So this miner is using a Powercolour HD7990 with the core ...

There is a backdoor in the EthOS 1.2.3 release, and most likely previous ones as well. Dont use this with your wallet on it!

EthOS does not support both AMD and NVIDIA cards on the same rig. It never will. As far as I'm aware, none of the linus or ubuntu builds do. Windows 10 supports up to 8 of both, but usually with a drop in performance, and difficulty with individual card settings. Follow directions at http://ethosdistro.com/kb/#support for any additional questions.

It looks like you just started using miner 2; if your local miner gives you a hash rate, you should believe that value over the dashboard for at least a few hours. There aren't enough data points for the dashboard to accurately compute approximate hash rate. I see each one has an average hash rate of around 35 MH/s right now. The increase/decrease thing just ...

EthOS is what i use on my rigs as well. Depending on which files you edit, for example if it's miner app related then you need to do "minestop" then "minestart" for ethOS to reload the miner application and apply new settings, and if you change something like GPU config in local.conf you need to reboot the whole system. Looking at your helpme result, it ...

After we build a small farm with 50 rigs (~500 GPUS) a lot of problems came, like: gpu temperature, network failure, self reboot, room heat and so on. As a solution we start building our own monitoring software with a simple idea: every rig will run a small client a VPS (outside farm) keep all rigs connected and communicate with them realtime throw a TCP ...

You will need to check with the pool miner. Typically, you can set your payout to be between 0.05 - 10 ETH for something like ethermine. You will have to go to the miner dashboard and check the settings. The amount produced depends on your hardware and Hashrate, which will also be viewable at the mining pool website.

I had exactly the same issue on my Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ 8GB cards on the latest Ethos. I expected the stock BIOS to achieve 24-25MH/s, but instead got only 18MH/s on the quiet BIOS or 20MH/s on the Boost BIOS (via card BIOS switch). After some investigation I found that (using the Boost BIOS) lowering the core and mem clocks to spec rates (1257Mhz core, ...
