My env

  • Truffle v5.3.1 (core: 5.3.1)
  • Solidity - ^0.8.0 (solc-js)
  • Node v15.11.0
  • infura (Rinkeby test network)
  • Rinkeby Test wallet has 21 ether

my truffle-config file

const HDWalletProvider = require('@truffle/hdwallet-provider');
const mnemonic = process.env["MNEMONIC"];

module.exports = {
        rinkeby: {
         provider: () => new HDWalletProvider(mnemonic, `wss://rinkeby.infura.io/ws/v3/APIKEY`,0,1 ),
         network_id: 4, //rinkeby
         skipDryRun: true,
         gas: 8500000,

I run

truffle migrate --network rinkeby --reset

It takes forever for the migrations to take place, runs through 50 blocks before it stops and throws an error.

Error: *** Deployment Failed ***

"Migrations" -- Transaction was not mined within 750 seconds, please make sure your transaction was properly sent. Be aware that it might still be mined!.

Could this be a gas issue or is something possibly not connecting right like my wallet? Infura shows me all the API calls it's getting too.

    Is the gas price high enough? Does the account have enough ether? Does the account have other pending transactions? Gas at 8.5M is quite high, it is within block gas limit for rinkeby at 10M but transaction with lower gas are easier to accomodate for miners, can you try setting a lower gas limit? – Ismael Apr 16 at 21:07
