let ethersProvider = new ethers.providers.Web3Provider(web3Provider);

Using the web3 current provider for creating the ethers provider causes a uncaught DOM exception. Looks like an incompatibility between web3 and ethers.

Reverting to previous web3 versions does not solve this.

Any verified solution available?
