I deployed a smart contract on the Ropsten testnet to create an ERC-20 token but, even though when I add my token on Metamask it shows that I own the total supply of the token, my token ownership stays at 0% on Etherscan. (I am using the beta version of Metamask) enter image description here

This is a temporary issue with Etherscan's API as it seems the Token Holder percentage API is currently down for the Ropsten & Kovan testnets. You can verify it by checking other token contracts on these networks as well.

Your contract correctly implements all the ERC-20 required functions.

You should either wait for the service to be back up and running or try deploying your contract on the Rinkeby testnet where the API functions correctly.

  • While @DmytroZarezenko you are correct, it is initialized at 0 as it is never re-assigned and only INITIAL_SUPPLY is assigned the actual total supply. Commented May 24, 2018 at 8:56
