Requirement: Suppose I have access to an already deployed ethereum smart contract.I want to access it using its address and ABI's in a Java application using web3j. Is this possible or we need to explicitly define java wrapper class for the solidity contract?

If possible how?

  • Communications with the ethereum client is done with JSON-RPC so it should be possible to use the java directly without a contract wrapper. But it can be pretty cumbersome to encode/decode function calls with the ABI, the wrapper makes that tedious task in your behalf. – Ismael Mar 7 '18 at 5:45
