I bought some Ether over 4 hours ago: https://etherchain.org/account/0x3d74c07013285b31049ecc7d9cb078cd1aa8ea96

When I run the following script on my local machine I get:

$ geth console
> function checkAllBalances() {
    var totalBal = 0;
    for (var acctNum in eth.accounts) {
        var acct = eth.accounts[acctNum];
        var acctBal = web3.fromWei(eth.getBalance(acct), "ether");
        totalBal += parseFloat(acctBal);
        console.log("  eth.accounts[" + acctNum + "]: \t" + acct + " \tbalance: " + acctBal + " ether");
    }
    console.log("  Total balance: " + totalBal + " ether");
};
> checkAllBalances()
  eth.accounts[0]:    0x3d74c07013285b31049ecc7d9cb078cd1aa8ea96    balance: 0 ether

  • @5chdn makes sense. Thanks. Could you post as an answer and I'll accept. Cheers. (If you know a link to a good intro tutorial with that described I'd be very grateful) – AJP Mar 27 '17 at 19:57
