I am new to Ethereum and blockchain. I created a simple contact and use Remix to deploy it to a test network.

The code:

// SPDX-License-Identifier: GPL-3.0

pragma solidity >=0.7.0 <0.9.0;

contract HelloWorld {
    string public message;

    function setMessage(string memory newMessage) public {
        message = newMessage;
    }

}

There is some questions about the code. When I deploy it to the test network, does it create a block on the ethereum blockchain?

When I run the method setMessage on the contract, I can see it creates a transaction in the log. Where is the transaction sitting? Is the transaction copied to all distributed node in the blockchain network? And all nodes need to run the method setMessage?

People mentioned that there may take more than 10 minutes to mine a coin from bitcoin blockchain. Does this apply to ethereum? In above example, which part is the mining part?
