We all know what approve/transferFrom
work in ERC220.
Now, I am looking at ERC223 which also has the transfer function. After reading its docs, It's said that for ERC223, there's no need for approve/transferFrom
at all and 1 tx(transfer) is enough.
How is this possible ? I know uniswap also does this, but how ? Let's say I have 100 tokens on ERC223. and now, example
contract wants to transfer 50 tokens from my account to account1
. If I don't approve first and then example
contract does transferFrom
, how can having transfer
function only help in this case ?
Here is where I read that: Link
For example decentralized exchange will no more need to require users to call approve then call deposit (which is internally calling transferFrom to withdraw approved tokens). Token transaction will automatically be handled at the exchange contract.
