I have been following the tutorial for creating a private IBFT 2.0 network using Hyperledger Besu. The issue is that the blocks are created every 2 seconds and many blocks are created with no transactions at all.

Running the chain for 10 minutes takes up about 40 MB of data on the disk, so it is not very feasible when running on a sever.

Using GETH, if we specify block time to 0, it will only mine a new block when there is a transaction. The same thing does not seem to work on Besu. Is there any other way to accomplish that?

Is there any way to decrease the disk size/storage used by this protocol?
