@Andromelus, you will have to set byzantiumBlock in the genesis file for the status field to be active - see github.com/bokkypoobah/DeveryCrowdsale/blob/master/test/…

Please add to your answer that client version should be 1.7.3 or above. Older clients still don't provide status field
